Robert Priests poems for
children are funny, clever and hip! Kids adore them, repeat them and even
improvize upon them. Now Ekstasis Editions presents the best of Robert
Priests two previous collections of childrens poetry, A
Terrible Case of the Stars and The Ruby Hat, along with outstanding
new poems. Families, libraries and classrooms will appreciate having the
best of Robert Priests childrens poetry in a single volume
with delightful pen and ink illustrations by artist Tineke Visser (Colours
Everywhere You Go, Ekstasis 2000). With space poems, robot poems,
nonsense and fantasies Robert Priest makes literacy and learning fun for
all ages! The Secret Invasion of Bananas is undoubtedly destined
to become a classic of contemporary Canadian poetry for children.
Robert Priest is known as a poet for both adults and children and has
been published widely and internationally. He is also a performing musician,
a songwriter and playwright (creator of the well-loved childrens
play Knights of the Endless Day) and leads literacy workshops in
schools. He has released numerous recordings for children with the musical
group The Teds and a spoken word CD. Robert Priest lives in Toronto, Ontario.
