John Calabro was born in Sicily and lived in France from 1956 to 1966, at which point he came to Canada, where he now resides. His first publication Bellecour (2005) was named by The Globe and Mail, as one of the Top Five First Works of Fiction. Calabro’s second work, The Cousin came out in 2009. Its French translation, Le Cousin (2012), was shortlisted for a Governor General Award. An Imperfect Man, a novella was published in 2012. Its French translation, Un Homme Imparfait, was published 2017. John Calabro specializes in the genre known as the réçit. |
